The village of Hurley sits on a particularly picturesque stretch of the River Thames in Berkshire, where the river widens and meanders through water meadows and woodland. The area has been inhabited since Saxon times and Hurley Priory was founded in 1086. The riverbanks here are quiet and unspoilt, popular with punters and pleasure craft in summer.
